If LSU is, indeed, the best basketball team in the Southeastern Conference, Coach John Brady has local high schools to thank.

The Tigers, 6-0 in league play and 14-5 overall, feature a starting lineup of players who grew up in the shadows of the Pete Maravich Assembly Center on the LSU campus.

Forward Tyrus Thomas, the favorite for SEC freshman of the year honors, is from Baton Rouge
