Madison library reopens after lightning strike

The Madison Branch Public Library is back open.

Damages from lightning that struck the building May 27 had forced the library on Gallatin Pike in Madison to close for more than two weeks.

According to Metro spokesperson Emily Richard, repairs have been made, and the library re-opened Monday morning.

The most extensive damage was to the building’s HVAC system, but officials did not immediately provide the cost to make repairs.
