Investigative work by Metro Nashville Police Department West Precinct detectives led to the arrest of convicted burglar Robert Goddard, who is now charged with multiple Nashville residential break-ins and who is suspected in additional burglaries in other counties.
Police have charged Goddard with nine break-ins, all on the city’s west side, that occurred between March 10 and March 25.
West Precinct detectives developed Goddard, of Nichol Road, as a potential suspect. And during a surveillance operation Friday, they apprehended him after he allegedly broke into two homes. During interviews, Goddard admitted to all nine burglaries, police said.
Goddard, who has multiple burglary and theft convictions, is now charged with eight counts of aggravated burglary and one count of attempted aggravated burglary. He is being held in lieu of $65,000 bond.
Goddard is also suspected in similar crimes in Williamson, Rutherford, Hickman, Dickson and Cheatham counties.
