Man charged in Tuesday morning robbery, shooting

Metro Nashville Police Department detectives arrested 28-year-old Jason Diehl after he allegedly shot a man during a robbery attempt this morning in North Nashville.

According to police, Diehl shot Marlin Williamson, 32, in the neck and stole $40 from him during a hold-up at Williamson’s residence in the 1600 block of 14th Ave. N. Soon after the shooting, police stopped Diehl in downtown Nashville for driving erratically.

Diehl had also been shot, but it was unclear who shot him.

Williamson was treated and released from Vanderbilt University Medical Center. Diehl was also treated at VUMC, then released into police custody. He was held on $100,000 bond.
