Man in critical care after shooting

Metro Police are investigating a shooting in East Nashville late Monday night that left one man in critical condition at Vanderbilt University Medical Center.

Police tell NewsChannel5 the victim was walking near the James Cayce Homes when a man dressed all in black came up to him and shot him twice.

The victim was transported to VUMC with gunshot wounds to the leg and stomach.

Police have not yet released his identity.
