A north Nashville man is facing criminal homicide charges after he allegedly stabbed his younger brother Wednesday morning outside the family’s home at 1047 Trinity Lane.
Jesse and Michael Coffey, 34 and 32, respectively, had been out drinking together, police said. The victim returned home without his brother. Jesse was later dropped off at the residence, but his brother told him he could not stay there.
Police said the brothers then got into a physical fight. Jesse allegedly went inside the home, retrieved a knife, and fatally stabbed his brother in the chest in the front yard.
Michael died while being transported to the hospital.
