Man shot by police identified as suspect in second robbery case

The man who was shot by police after he allegedly robbed the Hillsboro Road Kroger pharmacy on Tuesday has been identified as a suspect in the Aug. 2 robbery of the same store, Franklin Police said.

Demian T. Rivera, 30, a convicted felon with a lengthy criminal history, was shot by a Williamson County deputy and two Franklin Police officers after he pointed a realistic replica of a .45-caliber handgun at officers.

Rivera was released from Vanderbilt University Medical Center on Sunday afternoon. He was immediately booked into the Williamson County Jail, where he is being held without bond.

He faces seven counts of aggravated assault, aggravated robbery, unlawful possession of a firearm by a felon, possession of a stolen license plate and possession of narcotics for resale.
