Man surrenders after standoff in Bellevue

A Bellevue man surrendered to police just after noon Friday following a brief standoff at a home on Westfield Drive.

The man, whose name police didn’t release, called police to a home at 330 Westfield Drive at 10:43 Friday morning. Following the brief standoff, the man peacefully surrendered himself at 12:11 p.m., according to police.

Officers also confiscated a few firearms from the home, but police didn’t provide the number or the type of firearms.

Police haven’t charged the man at this, but he is being held for a mental evaluation.
