A Franklin man who allegedly made "serious threats" that he was going to kill his ex-wife and her family will remain behind bars, a judge ordered Friday morning.

Ryan Thompsett, 29, is facing stalking, retaliation, domestic assault and vandalism charges from a string of events that began this week when he allegedly vandalized his ex-wife's home Wednesday, Franklin Police said.

He was out on bond on vandalism, harassment and public intoxication charges when he began repeatedly calling his ex-wife and making "serious threats," police said.

Franklin Police filed a second series of warrants against Thompsett and quickly re-arrested him.

Thompsett, who is on probation in Rutherford County, was booked back into the Williamson County Jail, only hours after being released, police said.

He now faces charges of aggravated stalking, retaliation for past actions (both are felonies) and domestic assault.

Officers are working with the District Attorney’s Office to charge Thompsett with violating the bond conditions of his original charges.
