Metro police officer Anthony Jackson lost his job with the department Thursday for allegedly pulling on a waitress’ underwear in a Hickory Hollow restaurant in 2010.

Jackson, 40, was fired following a disciplinary hearing Thursday afternoon. A waitress in the bar area of the restaurant accused Jackson of the inappropriate contact in the early morning hours of Feb. 22, 2010, while Jackson was off duty, according to Metro police.

The department’s Office of Professional Accountability and Sex Crimes Unit investigated the claims after the waitress and her employer reported the incident.

Jackson’s police authority was stripped in February 2010 during the investigation and he remained decommissioned until Thursday’s hearing.

A Davidson County grand jury indicted Jackson on two counts of sexual battery in May 2010.

Not condoning his actions, but, Fire him? For "pulling on her underware" in public?
Was his arrest record, felony arrests, conduct, taken into account?
These women who flirt, then cry, "Rape" are a dime a dozen.
She wasn't hurt. Slap him and that's the end of it.

Although his Police Powers were suspended he has been on the Metro payroll
for 2 yrs now. He was indicted by the Grand Jury 3 months after this happened.
Why in h*ll has there not been neither court action or Dept decision on any part
of this until now? This has been a total waste of taxpayer dollars to allow this
to take so long. He should have been either cleared and put back on real
duty, fired, or Court decision at least 12-15 months ago!

Dargent7, sexual assault is a crime. The last thing any police department needs are officers who commit this crime, whether on or off duty. I don't know that you are any one can say if this waitress was flirting or not, but flirting is not permission to allow a man or woman to touch one inappropriately in public. As far as Jackson's conduct, it very much was considered.

This guy should never have been allowed to wear a badge...he is a serial woman abuser...rather than firing this knucklehead, they should put him in charge of cleaning out and maintaining the ladies' rooms in every Metro-related office building...let him remove and dump the used tampon containers and such....this would be extremely appropriate work for a woman-hating, Chauvinist, ex-cop like this guy.

Don't they vet the applicants for police jobs in Nashville? These guys are always getting into trouble with the law....they feel they are above the law.

Loner, they don't think they are above the law--they are just stupid!

Unless he was in uniform I don't think he should lose his job over it.

If the woman wants to file charges and he is convicted then he should lose his job... or if she wants to do a civil case individually against him, that's her right but he shouldn't be fired unless he was in uniform.

A lot of the servers at that Logan's are gay. I wonder if that had something to do with it... a bit of hypersensitivity and a misunderstanding possibly. Or maybe the guy's just an effin' creep. We don't know from the story.

Thanks for the info, Hugger...low regional test scores do translate into poor public services, don't they?

This ex-cop must have been very stupid...he's on probation and still he's grabbing at strange fanny...I'm glad that the article did not reveal the race of the waitress...we don't need a race riot in Music City....The Headline might have read: "Black ex-cop grabs white waitresses' panties"...it's probably better that those ugly details are left out of the article.

If this cop had a history of abuse towards females, what was he doing on the payroll all that time?

By: Loner on 12/30/11 at 7:44

Maybe the ex-cop was grabbing the panties of a gay cross-dresser, Ben? That would make sense, in Nashville.

"A black ex-cop strolls into a gay eatery....."

Where's house_of_pain when we need him?

By: Loner on 12/30/11 at 8:15

Of course, the ex-cop will probably play the race card....a cop can't even grab some ass these days...sheeesh!

Classless slinging of mild sexual harassment accusations in ANTIOCH? NOOOOO.... say it ain't so!

With all the high-quality establishments in Hickory Hollow, how could he pick just ONE?

But seriously, regardless of the likelihood she was doing her part to encourage him, as so many women do... this is one less crooked cop in service, and that always makes me happy.

yucchhii LMAO, Let him do that at the nashville rescue mission, he's be in trouble...pull o9n a gay crossdressers panties and the he/she would drag him to the bathrooms that are nasty with barf, sh*#, saliva, and then throw him on the toilet and sit on him!!! LMAO!!

Two felony counts for allegedly grabbing a waitress's (we may assume, exposed) panties, followed by a two-year investigation by the Thought Crimes Unit?

Who said that history appears first as farce, then as tragedy? George Orwell would be rolling over in his grave.

By: Loner on 12/30/11 at 12:45

It takes two years in Nashville to determine if grabbing a waitress' panties is appropriate or not?

Hey, when a black kills or injures a white guy, the process is a lot quicker than that.

Obviously not many decent applicants apply. for jobs as a cop

Good point. Seems to be the case.
