Staff reports

A Metro Police officer was taken to the hospital Wednesday night after his police cruiser collided with another car at the intersection of Charlotte Pike and White Bridge Road in west Nashville.

The officer was responding to a call just before 11 p.m. with his lights and sirens on when another vehicle pulled into the intersection, police said. The driver of the other vehicle said she didn’t hear or see the officer coming.

Both the officer and the other driver were taken to the hospital with minor injuries.

Does the officer have a name?

A better question would be which one ran through the red light. Just because the officer was running with blue lights and siren does not give him automatic passage through a red light. It only lets him ask for permission to proceed through the light. If he ran it he is absolutely responsible for all damages.

I see a muscle bound policeman with a litany of tattoos on his arm in that part of town quite often. I wonder if it was him?
