Nashville Metro Police arrested 27-year-old Adolfo Vargas Jr. in connection with the Monday morning murder of a man at Las Potrancas Bar on Haywood Lane. But Juan Diego Vargas, his younger brother and the alleged gunman, remains at large, possibly on his way west.

Adolfo Vargas was taken into custody at a home on Algonquin Lane on Tuesday night. After questioning, police arrested Vargas and charged him with facilitating criminal homicide. He is being held on a $350,000 bond.

During questioning, according to police, Adolfo said his 23-year-old brother may be en route to Mexico or California. He is driving a maroon 2004 Chevrolet Impala that may have a temporary license plate. He is wanted for criminal homicide and has been entered into a national database of felons currently at large.

Santos Cordova Reyes, 27, of Taylor Road, was shot in the head about 2 a.m. on Monday morning during a confrontation with two men outside the south Nashville bar. He was pronounced dead later that evening at Vanderbilt University Medical Center.

Police are urging anyone with information to call Crime Stoppers at 74-CRIME, which is also available to Spanish speakers.
