NASHVILLE - The Nashville Metros home playoff game against the Milwaukee Rampage has been rescheduled for Wednesday, Sept. 19 at 7 p.m. at Ezell Park in Nashville.
The return leg of the series in Milwaukee will be held at 3 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 22 at the Milwaukee County Sports Complex.
The game in Nashville has been moved a day earlier than tentatively scheduled to allow both teams to travel via ground transportation and avoid any potential disruptions of air service.
Both teams plan special pre-game ceremonies honoring the victims of the Tuesday attack on the World Trade Center and the Pentagon, as well as those who have placed themselves at risk in the search, rescue and recovery efforts. The Metros will accept donations from all fans attending the game for the United Way's Sept. 11 Fund, which aids the victims and families of those killed or injured in the Tuesday attacks.
The A-League playoffs, originally scheduled to begin on Wednesday, were postponed one week by United Soccer Leagues following the terrorist attacks on the United States.
The Metros and Rampage finished the season with identical records of 14-10-2, 63 points. The winner of the two-game, aggregate goal series will face the Richmond Kickers in a quarterfinal round series during the week of Sept. 23.
