Mother faces child neglect after leaving 6-year-old home alone

Police charged a 31-year-old mother Monday with child neglect after allegedly leaving her child home alone for more than half a day.

The mother, Christie McFall, is accused of going to work just before 11 a.m. on June 9 and leaving her 6-year-old son alone at home until she returned around 11 p.m. Police found the child playing outside early the next morning.

Police arrested McFall on a felony child neglect charge Monday. She posted a $2,500 bond and was released later that day.

According to an arrest warrant, when McFall returned home to find the door to her home open and her son missing, she looked around the home and property before calling a prayer line for help.

Police said McFall told them prayer counselors advised her to call police but she didn’t because she thought her son was just somewhere nearby. McFall said she went to bed instead.

When she awoke at 6:30 the next morning and the 6-year-old boy still wasn’t home, she checked with neighbors before calling the police.

Officers found the boy playing with a clothesline in the yard. Police said McFall admitted it wasn’t the first time she left her son alone while she went to work.

McFall doesn’t appear to have any previous charges filed against her.

If the sequence of events reported in the article are correct, this woman has no business in being a mother. She called a prayer line then went to bed????? She looked around the property, but didn't find him in the back yard? What a loser.

No make that two.

Yeah, make that three. You can't find your child so you go to bed???? and sleep???? There is a certain bizarre consistancy, I mean she left the kid alone for 12 hours, what difference does a few more make.

make that 4.

Instead of "jumping" the mom..... where is the DAD? Why do you expect sooooooooo freaking much from a (possible) single mom? When WOULD you like her to sleep, because, seriously, she'd be much more dangerous to the rest of us if she's driving to/from work with no sleep at all.

the "baby daddy" is no where to be found - probably. And I think she's watched "HOME ALONE" to many times.

AND Girlie, did you miss the part where she said she discovered her child "missing", called a prayer line and went to bed?

That's screwed up. If my dog is missing, I go hunting for it. If I had a child, I'd definitely call a friend if I NEEDED sleep more than finding my kid.

I repectfully disagree with you on this.

And girlie, you and I are lucky; we can track our baby daddy's down.

what in GODS name is she still doing with this child, why has someone not taken him, and don't go there by saying the child is better off with his parent(s), he needs to be taken away and given a real HOME to live in and being taken care of, some people dont deserve to have kids....
