MTA wants bus rapid transit plan

The Metro Transit Authority is launching plans to create a super-fast bus route that would run along Gallatin Pike to downtown and then to the Vanderbilt/West End/21st Avenue area of Midtown Nashville.

No funding for the project, called a bus rapid transit (BRT) system, is secured, but the Metro Transit Authority (MTA) said Wednesday that a planning study for the program is slated to begin by year
