District 5 Metro Councilwoman Pam Murray, who is facing a possible recall election, filed two harassment complaints with Metro Police on Friday against constituents.

The first complaint by Murray was filed against Mike Peden. According to the police report, Peden has been “repeatedly calling her place of business about Council issues.”

According to the report, Peden was yelling and screaming at the Councilwoman when he called.

Murray elected not to file an order of protection against Peden, although she was advised on how to do so in the future.

Police left Murray’s East Nashville home after 9 a.m. on Friday morning and, less than an hour later, she called to file another harassment complaint.

The second complaint was against Amy Bryson. According to the police report, Bryson was “repeatedly calling [Murray’s] home and telling her she is going to tap her phones and being threatening in the way she spoke.”

Again, Murray elected not to file an order of protection.

As was first reported by The City Paper, a group of East Nashville residents is working to recall Murray. The recall effort needs about 870 signatures of District 5 voters in order to force a recall election.

Murray has faced an array of negative stories this year, including an exposé by NewsChannel 5, which showed she lives most of the time in Detroit, where she works as a social worker for a methadone clinic.

District 8 Councilwoman Karen Bennett filed a complaint with Metro Police in April alleging a group with Murray threatened her and yelled racial epithets following a community meeting. No charges were ever filed, and Murray filed a counter complaint saying she was also threatened by Bennett.

After those incidents, District 5 resident Terry Dale Vibbert filed a complaint with the state ethics commission alleging that Murray lied on her 2008 and 2009 ethics disclosure forms. Murray listed herself as self-employed, when in fact she worked as a social worker in Detroit at the time. Murray eventually amended the disclosure forms, and the complaint is still open at this time.

Murray could not be reached for comment.

This woman is obviously not cut out for Public Service...and seems to be in the job for personal gain, in my opinion.

How about how Murray has harassed the District 5 people for years. Ignored, neglected and threatened the people is Murray's m.o.
Murray is so ego bound she doesn't hear that the people want her gone and gone for good.
District 5 wants a Council Person who cares about their District not someone on an ego trip using her position for her own personal gain like Murray.
