A national chamber of commerce association has awarded a top national award to the Nashville Area Chamber of Commerce.

The American Chamber of Commerce Executives  group has award its Chamber of the Year award to Nashville’s chamber. The Nashville for All of Us campaign — a successful Nashville Chamber effort to fight the passage of a local English First charter amendment — was part of the Nashville Chamber’s application for the award.

“We are excited to be named the nation’s top chamber of commerce of our size, and we couldn’t have done it without the leadership and support of our board, staff, members and community partners,” said Ralph Schulz, president of the Nashville Chamber, in a statement.

ACCE is the only national association serving the professional development needs of chamber professionals throughout the United States and Canada.

The Nashville Area Chamber of Commerce is Middle Tennessee’s largest business federation, representing 2,300 member companies. For more information vist the Chamber Web site.

These kind of "awards" are like the ones the school associations give out for "most improved urban district of 70,000 in the South". They are very specific criteria for which only a few qualify .
