Relief for Nashville Gas customers could be in sight.

As a result of decreases in the wholesale cost of gas, Nashville Gas has filed for and received approval from the Tennessee Regulatory Authority to lower rate tariffs for natural gas service by nine percent effective March 1.

According to the company, based on normal weather prediction, the average residential customer will consume approximately 110 therms and pay a projected $109 for natural gas in March. The result is a savings of about $10. The rate decrease is the first for the company since January 1999.
