Nashville State ranks high on magazine's list of fastest growing two-year colleges

Nashville State Community College ranked No. 6 in Community College Week magazine’s list of the top 50 fastest growing public two-year colleges in the nation.

Based on percentage change in headcount between fall 2009 and fall 2010, Nashville State saw enrollment increase by 1,212 students, a 14 percent increase.

According to a NSCC press release, the college has seen a 37 percent increase in students over the past five years.

“My personal experience and what I hear from other students is that Nashville State is convenient, they offer great programs, and the faculty is awesome. They tell their friends about it and more people just keep coming,” Nashville State student government president Sam Killebrew said.

Enrollment at Nashville State is 9,985.
