North Nashville shootout leaves 18-year-old with head injury, three others injured

A shootout between occupants in two separate vehicles Tuesday afternoon on Buena Vista Pike has left an 18-year-old wounded.

Charles Keith Williams, a passenger in a Pontiac Bonneville, suffered head trauma from a vehicle crash near Moormans Arm Road. Williams was taken to Vanderbilt University Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries.

Darryn Carter, 18, who was driving the Pontiac, and two other passengers, Emmanuel Webb and Richard Jackson, both 19, were also transported to Vanderbilt with injuries suffered when the vehicle crashed into a telephone pole after the shooting.

The other car involed, a Chrysler 300, drove away from the scene.

According to police, officers found a handgun that had been hidden by passengers of the Pontiac in a nearby wooded area.

North Precinct detectives are investigating the shooting.
