Former Arizona Cardinals head coach Dave McGinnis has emerged as a candidate to fill the linebackers coaching vacancy with the Tennessee Titans.
McGinnis, 52, was fired after the Cardinals went 4-12 this past season and replaced by Dennis Green.
According to one source, Titans coach Jeff Fisher has put an offer on the table to McGinnis to come to Tennessee. The veteran coach has also been contacted by the Oakland Raiders about a position on their staff.
The Raiders are not expected to make any movement regarding their vacancy until after the Super Bowl. There has also been talk that Tennessee might consider two or three other candidates as well.
Agent Danny More, who represents McGinnis, stopped short of saying the Titans had made an offer to McGinnis, but acknowledged a lengthy relationship between McGinnis and Fisher, dating back to the mid-1980s.
