Planning board defers Midtown tower project

The Metro Planning Commission yesterday deferred voting on a zoning change request after developers of a proposed twin apartment towers complex in Midtown decided they need more time to fine-tune their plan.

Tom White, the local attorney representing St. Louis-based MLP Investments, said he met yesterday morning with a group that included Metro Councilwoman Ginger Hausser and Vanderbilt University official Mary Pat Teague, who expressed concern regarding the aesthetics of the towers and how the buildings might affect helicopters accessing Vanderbilt University Medical Center
