Two men disguised as security guards are facing criminal charges after they told a man he was under investigation for a drug complaint, then took money from his wallet.
Travis Calhoun, 20, and Michael Lee Adams, 21, allegedly approached the victim outside of his home in Antioch early Friday morning. They are accused of taking $190 from the victim’s wallet.
Police located Adams and Calhoun, along with two women and a child, at Waffle House on Harding Place. South Precinct officers found $75 under a trashcan in the bathroom and a security guard shirt inside an air vent in the restaurant. According to Metro police, the victim identified Adams and Calhoun as the robbers.
Police allege that Calhoun also admitted to a similar April 21 crime on Antioch Pike when he dressed as a security guard and robbed another man.
Both men were charged with robbery, impersonating a police officer, child endangerment and evidence tampering. Calhoun also faces one extra count each of robbery and impersonating a police officer.
Calhoun was in jail on $34,000 bond, and Adams, of Madison, was held on $55,000.
