Police have charged Edward W. Wise with criminal homicide following the stabbing death of another man early Wednesday morning in south Nashville.
Wise, 45, allegedly stabbed 37-year-old David Ross inside a barn at 232 Franklin Limestone Road where the two were visiting a homeless man, staying inside the barn with permission from the property owner.
According to police, Wise and Ross got into an argument at about 1:30 a.m. Wednesday and started wrestling on a mattress inside the barn. Police said Wise stabbed Ross during the scuffle, cutting his leg and causing him to lose a significant amount of blood.
Ross died at the scene.
Wise allegedly left the scene but was picked up by police a short time later as he walked along Franklin Limestone Road. Police said Wise had blood on his clothing as well as on a pocketknife in his possession.
Wise is being held in lieu of $1 million bond pending a hearing.
