Staff reports

Investigation by West Precinct Officer Forrest Drake led to the Tuesday morning discovery of a marijuana grow operation inside a shed behind 5402 Tennessee Ave.

Drake developed information that Dustin Chaisson, 36, and Jill Dykema, 38, were allegedly growing marijuana in a building behind their residence in The Nations neighborhood on the city’s west side, according to the Metro Nashville Police Department.

Officers said they detected a strong odor of marijuana when they approached the backyard at 3 a.m.

Inside a shed was a grow operation including a water filtration system, heat lamps, six marijuana plants and 127.3 grams of loose marijuana, according to police. Drug paraphernalia was also located inside the house, police said.

Chaisson and Dykema have been charged with manufacturing marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.

They are being held in lieu of $60,000 bond each.

I thought that the Nations was a free enterprise community. Their is little crime in the Nations and I thought the cops let them function in a manner beffitting their lifestyle.
