Police, FBI seek man who robbed downtown Regions Bank

Metro police and the FBI want the public’s help identifying a suspect who robbed the downtown Regions Bank at 315 Deaderick Street Monday morning.

The suspect, described as a 6-foot-tall black man with a medium build, handed a teller a demand note at 10 a.m. The teller handed over cash and the man fled on foot.

The suspect was last seen wearing a black coat, black jeans and a black knit cap.

Police encourage anyone with information concerning the robbery to call Det. Reggie Miller with the FBI Violent Crimes Task Force at 232-7500 or Crime Stoppers at 74-CRIME.

Citizens can also send an electronic tip to Crime Stoppers by texting the word “CASH” along with their message to 274637 (CRIMES) or by visiting www.nashvillecrimestoppers.com.

If he used a gun then the cops should just check the Handgun Carry Permit database.

We certainly don't expect that he carried a weapon around in violation of the state's carry law!!! After all that is why we always strengthen the laws for gun owners when violent crime occurs.
