Metro Police have charged a third person in the October 2009 murder at Brick Church Pike motel.
Harold Doss Jr., 23, faces charges of first-degree murder, especially aggravated robbery and especially aggravated kidnapping in the murder of Jiro Kanazawa, 34, at America’s Best Value Inn. In February, Doss was picked up in Ft. Worth, Texas, following information developed by the U.S. Marshal’s Task Force.
Also facing murder, robbery and kidnapping charges in this case are Christopher Doss, 32, Harold Doss’ cousin, who was arrested Dec. 22, 2009, and Courtney Hambric, 21, who was arrested Oct. 20, 2009.
Hambric, of Chuckey, Tenn., was identified after she used Kanazawa’s debit card to withdraw cash from two different ATMs, police said.
Police said Hambric admitted to placing an Internet escort ad on Backpage.com. Kanazawa responded and met Hambric at the motel where he was robbed and fatally shot. Harold Doss rented the motel room where Kanazawa was found.
