Police ID body found in hotel room

Metro Police have identified the Kentucky man found shot to death Monday afternoon inside a north Nashville hotel room.

Jiro Kanazawa, 34, of Sonora, Ky., was found fatally shot at Americas Best Value Inn at 2403 Brick Church Pike.

Metro Police said the hotel manager knocked on the door at 12:50 p.m. Monday. When no one responded, he entered and found the man dead inside the room. The room had been rented the day before.

Kanazawa, who attended Southwest Tennessee Community College in Memphis prior to moving to Kentucky, worked for an auto parts manufacturer.

Police said Kanazawa was known to meet friends in Nashville on a regular basis. He drove to Nashville Saturday evening.
