Police ID pedestrian struck, killed by on Gallatin Pike Thursday night

Police have identified the pedestrian who was struck and fatally injured last night on Gallatin Pike near Palestine Avenue as 60-year-old James C. Grace.

The investigation indicates that Grace was hit at 10 p.m. by a Toyota Camry driven by Hannah Holmes, 36, of Madison, while he was crossing Gallatin Pike.

According to police, Grace wasn’t in a crosswalk when he was hit. He was transported to Vanderbilt University Medical Center where he died.

Alcohol didn’t appear to be a factor on the part of Grace or Holmes, according to police.
