Staff reports

Metro police have identified the teenager who died in a Thursday morning house fire at 4563 Artelia Drive in Antioch as 15-year-old Dalia Prieto.

An 11-year-old girl was also critically injured, police said. Seven other children and five adults escaped without serious injury.

The Nashville Fire Department has ruled the blaze accidental, caused by a space heater located near combustible items.

No one deserves to die in a fire but there were 13 people living in the house. The girl that died and her mother have different Hispanic last names. I'm giving 10 to 1 odds that, except for the anchor babies, that they are illegal aliens.

Wow...great show of ignorance to the previous comment. To have the audacity to post something like that after a child has died. Where does it say in the report that 13 people were living there? How do you know that maybe it was a family gathering, a birthday party, etc. I get together with family often, doesn't mean we all live there. Support your case with actual facts.

soulvivor - You need to reread the articles!

And you need to reread the article, bfra and Butch needs to stop making all too typical assumptions and judgments... the only point was that it's possible they didn't all live there and assuming that "those people" were all illegal is assinine. It may in the end be true, but it doesn't keep it from being an assinine judgement.

By the way.... the 15 year old died after having already saved some of her other siblings... she had already gone back in the burning house once to save a sibling... and then she went back in a second time... she was an incredibly heroic individual who showed tremendous courage... I would be incredibly proud to have a daughter like her!
