Police identify woman found dead in Woodbine

Police have identified the woman whose partially decomposed body was found in an overgrown vacant lot Wednesday night in the Woodbine area.

Through her fingerprints, police identified the woman as a 27-year-old last known to have lived in Madison.

According to the Medical Examiner’s Office, she was shot and had been dead for several days.

Police have not released the woman’s name while they attempt to notify her next of kin.
