Metro Police detectives say they are investigating the possibility that prescription painkillers were being sold out of the Scottsboro home where 58-year-old Rebecca Pruitt was found murdered Thursday.

Pruitt’s body was discovered by a family member inside her Bull Run Road home just before 10 a.m. Thursday, police said. She was seen outside her residence around 8:15 a.m.

Police said Pruitt died during a struggle inside her home.

Anyone with information about Pruitt’s murder is urged to contact North Precinct Investigations at 862-7901 or Crime Stoppers at 74-CRIME.
