Staff reports

Metro police say a woman walked into U.S. Bank in East Nashville at 9:15 a.m. Thursday, demanded and received cash, and fled in an SUV that was parked outside.

Although no weapon was visible, the woman threatened to open fire if demands in the note she presented to the teller were not met.

The teller at the 3940 Gallatin Pike branch complied and the woman left in a white SUV — possibly a Chevrolet Trailblazer.

At the time of the robbery, the suspect was wearing a black-and-white striped shirt, blue jeans and white tennis shoes. She is described as approximately 5 feet, 4 inches tall and weighing approximately 110 pounds.

Anyone recognizing the robber from very clear bank surveillance photographs is urged to contact Crime Stoppers at 74-CRIME. Reward money is available for information leading to the robber’s apprehension.

She looks like she ought to be at Seigenthaler's Freedom Forum or some other brain trust. Probably won't be all that difficult to locate.

If it's illegal to with draw money from a bank the way she's doing it, please tell me this:

Why is it NOT illegal to be in our country without papers - proper papers? AND if you file your income tax WITH a false ss number, is that fraud? And is fraud ILLEGAL?
