Metro Police have a man in custody they say is allegedly responsible for the death of Gaetano Thomas Oteri, the father of Saturday Night Live veteran Cheri Oteri.
Richard William Fagan, 61, is charged with criminal homicide in connection with the death of Oteri, his roommate.
Oteri, 69, was found dead inside his 204 Burgundy Hill Road home on Sunday afternoon. Police say Oteri died from a wrist laceration that cause significant bleeding.
The investigation by Detectives Derry Baltimore and David Achord shows that Oteri and Fagan allegedly got into a fight inside the residence at approximately 9 p.m. Saturday. Fagan admitted to pulling a pocket knife and cutting Oteri during the fight, police said.
Friends of the roommates, who knew of the fight, called police when Oteri did not respond to repeated knocks on the door, according to police. Officers found Oteri dead inside the home.
Detectives immediately began looking for Fagan and found him with his bondsman downtown, police said. He had been stopped for a traffic violation and was arrested on DUI charges late Saturday night.
Fagan is being held without bond on a charge of criminal homicide.

This story, with a celebrity connection has made news for two days now. But a promising young teenager, working as a store clerk, was shot and killed on the job last night and there's not a mention of it anywhere.
Rich and Tom's friends do not care about "a celebrity connection" - We are reeling with shock, disbelief, and sadness. Both Tom and Rich have always been wonderful and supportive to their friends and families. This is a tragedy, and we are all in mourning. Love, Susan
