Wednesday, January 2, 2013 at 4:54pm

A 33-year-old homeless woman was stabbed at the Bicentennial Mall Wednesday morning, and police are now searching for the suspect.

The woman told police that the suspect demanded sex from her at knifepoint, and after she refused, he allegedly stabbed her several times before running away. She was taken to Vanderbilt University Medical Center where she was treated and was expected to be released Wednesday.

Detectives say the suspect may frequent the Jefferson Street and Rosa Parks Boulevard area. He is described as a black man between 30 and 40, and is approximately 5 feet 8 inches tall with a stocky build.

At the time of the attack, he wore dark pants and a white jacket with a logo on the front.

Police urge anyone with information on the suspect to call Crime Stoppers at 74-CRIME.

Er...maybe this would not happen if she were not homeless. Try getting a job and an apartment.

No, hang the perp.....but the woman asked to be made a victim. Sober up, get a job, be inside where it is safe, BE RESPONSIBLE.

No one "asks" to be made a victim.

Wrong, dipwad. She invited him inter her house by living on the street. I'm sure when they find the guy, you will make an excuse for his behavior, too.

America is full of pathetic whiners who want to blame someone else for everything.
