Police seek help in investigation of fatal South Nashville shooting

Metro detectives are working to identify who is responsible for the early morning shooting Monday that left 25-year-old Frederic Grant dead.

According to police, the shooting happened inside a black Chevrolet Monte Carlo near the intersection of Utopia Avenue and Edison Street between the fairgrounds and Interstate 440.

Grant was seated in the back seat of the car, which rolled into a utility pole. Police said Grant, who was found with a pistol in his waistband, was convicted on felony cocaine and aggravated assault charges in 2007. He was wanted on an outstanding probation violation warrant.

Police ask anyone with information on the shooting to call South Precinct Investigations at 862-7763 or Crime Stoppers at 74-CRIME.

You can stop reading at "Metro Detectives"... pretty much case will never be resolved and stolen property never returned to victim. end of story.
