Police seek public help finding Wal-Mart pickpocket pair

Metro Nashville Police Department West Precinct detectives are working to identify a man and woman suspected in at least six wallet thefts from the purses of women shopping at Wal-Mart at 7044 Charlotte Pike.

The victims, ranging in age from 23 to 85, were unaware their wallets had been stolen until they attempted to check out, police said Tuesday. Four thefts occurred on Dec. 29 between 7-10 p.m. Two thefts occurred on Jan. 5 at 12:30 p.m.

The suspects later used one of the victim’s credit cards to make a purchase at a Charlotte Pike convenience store. The female suspect is approximately 5-foot-3 and weighs about 200 pounds. The man is approximately 6 feet tall and weighs about 235 pounds. They were driving a dark minivan, possibly a Plymouth Voyager.

Anyone recognizing the suspects or having information concerning these thefts is urged to contact West Precinct detectives at 862-7385 or Crime Stoppers at 74-CRIME.

Persons who contact Crime Stoppers by phone or text message can remain anonymous and qualify for a cash reward.
