Preds make trade

The Nashville Predators have traded forward Ryan Tobler to the New York Rangers for defenseman Bert Robertsson.

Robertson, a native of Sodertalje, Sweden, has been assigned to the Milwaukee Admirals.

Robertsson, 26, has four goals and 10 assists in 123 career NHL games. He has played two games for the Rangers this season. Robertsson has been on the move a lot this season. He was claimed by the Columbus Blue Jackets in the 2000 NHL Expansion Draft and started the season with the Houston Aeros of the International Hockey League. He was acquired by the Rangers Nov. 9 for goaltender J.F. Labbe and sent to the Hartford Wolf Pack of the American Hockey League. In 27 games with the Wolf Pack Robertsson had seven goals, five assists and a plus-10 rating.

Tobler, who signed as a free agent on May 1, 2000, had seven goals, nine assists and 196 penalty minutes in 49 games for Milwaukee this season.
