Residents of the Buena Vista Pike, Clarksville Pike and Whites Creek Pike areas gathered Wednesday evening at a meeting called by District One Councilwoman Brenda Gilmore to discuss a controversial new development but made little progress on the issues that concern them.

Developer AHR-Development (Affordable Housing Resources-Development), a non-profit group whose mission is to provide a variety of housing options to families of different income levels, wants to build 45 three- and four-bedroom houses - 1,300 to 1,700 square feet - with garages on the tract.

The plan earned preliminary approval from the Metro Planning Commission at a July 19 hearing.

Neighbors are concerned that the proposed subdivision could increase flooding and traffic problems and decrease property values.
