Rezoning back on agenda for school board discussion

Almost a year after a controversial rezoning plan was passed by the Board of Education, monitoring of the plan is on the agenda for Tuesday’s school board meeting.

School board members will consider a report on the plan’s implementation, as well as data showing choices students have made for the next school year.

The task force that originally proposed the rezoning plan to the school board reconvened Thursday for the first time since last year. The group talked about the demographic impact of the plan on school populations, as well as updates to school district facilities that have occurred over the last school year.

The task force will reconvene again in November. Terms of the original plan stipulate that the group will meet twice each school year.
