Metro Police and the FBI’s Violent Crimes Task Force say they believe the same man who robbed Wachovia Bank’s 230 Fourth Avenue North branch on April 27 robbed it again Friday morning.

In both cases, police say the suspect presented a robbery demand note, the tellers complied and he fled on foot.

The suspect is described by police as a black man in his late 30s, approximately 6 feet tall and weighing about 200 pounds.

Police say he entered the bank at 9:15 a.m. Friday wearing a long-sleeved black jacket, khaki pants, white tennis shoes and a black and red baseball cap with “Miller Brewing” in white letters on the front.

Anyone with information about the suspect is urged to contact Crime Stoppers at 74-Crime or the FBI Violent Crimes Task Force at 232-7500.
