Harpeth Hall got the team they wanted but not the result.

The Honeybears, led by head coach Tim Wallace, voiced their desire to play Father Ryan in the finals from the beginning of the Nashville Girls Soccer City Championship, which concluded Saturday.

Their wish was granted when the Irish defeated Hume-Fogg, 2-1, on Saturday morning, setting up the late afternoon showdown with the Honeybears in the finals.

Ryan defeated Harpeth Hall 2-1 in overtime Saturday to become the inaugural winners of the city championship.
