Tennessee Department of Transportation contract crews will completely close a one-mile section of I-440 Eastbound between I-65 and I-24 in Nashville for 10 weekends starting later this month for major concrete repairs.
These repairs are part of a $9.7 million project that will widen this stretch of I-440 Eastbound. Closures this weekend will allow the concrete work to be completed on an accelerated schedule. Otherwise, repairs would require lane closures over several months.
I-440 East’s first closure is from I-65 to I-24 and is scheduled to take place Friday, June 28, at 9 p.m. through Monday, July 1, at 5 a.m.
The next nine closures are tentatively planned as follows:
July 12 – July 15
July 19 – July 22
July 26 – July 29
August 2 – August 5
August 9 – August 12
August 16 – August 19
September 6 – September 9
September 13 – September 16
October 11 – October 13
The road work is dependent on the weather and will be rescheduled in the event of rain or severe weather conditions.
There will be no construction or lane closures during the July 4 and Labor Day weekends. There will also be no construction during the weekend of the Titans’ first pre-season game on August 24 or regular season game weekends during September.
