Sick Cy misses loss

Few places are lonelier than a college campus during the holidays. Such was the case Tuesday night at Tennessee State University where a gathering generously announced as 1,079 assembled in the Gentry Center where the Tigers hosted Portland State.

Among the missing was TSU head coach Cy Alexander. Unable to shake the flu, Alexander checked into a hospital for observation shortly before tipoff at the urging of his wife and TSU athletics director Teresa Phillips.
