People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) is well-known for attention grabbing public displays and the two giant condoms standing at the corner of Fifth Avenue and Broadway was no exception.
On Friday afternoon, two PETA representatives, dressed as blue and pink prophylactics, shared the group’s message about pet birth control.
Signs included the slogans: “Dogs Can’t Use Condoms; Spay and Neuter!” and “Condoms Won’t Work: Fix Your Cat!”
The joke was meant to highlight that pets can’t make the conscious decision of birth control; all owners should have their animals spade and neutered in order to address domestic pet overpopulation.
And if planned parenthood did that, they'd be arrested. If any group promoting spa and neuter, ie, teach your children about sex - safely and preferably abstinance, they'd be crucified.
A condom? I"m sure with all the GENIUS at Peta they could have come up with a better attention grabber or shocker. Pets and condoms in no way are related.
What idiot on the plantet equates pets to condoms? None!
I think it is disturbing to see a child giving a high five to someone dressed as a condom.
Mr. Big Words
All of my animals are fixed, but the society in which I live is totally broken.
