Redskins name Schottenheimer coach

In a stunning move, the Washington Redskins named former Kansas City Chiefs head coach Marty Schottenheimer as coach and director of football operations. Schottenheimer gets a four-year contract worth $10 million to try to turn around the fortunes of a franchise that had been expected to make the Super Bowl this year based on their $100 million payroll. As compensation, the Redskins will give up third-round draft picks in the next two drafts to the Chiefs. Schottenheimer, who was an ESPN football analyst the last two years, is 12th all-time in NFL coaching career wins with 147.
