An 18-year-old is facing a handful of charges after he allegedly robbed two men at gunpoint as they were leaving Hickory Hollow Mall on Tuesday night, police said.

The victims told police they were taking bags to their car just after 9 p.m. when they heard someone running toward them from behind. The robber pointed a gun at them and demanded the shoes and T-shirts they had just purchased, as well as their wallets and cell phones.

A short time after the robbery, Marcus Caruthers was detained in another section of mall property for attempting to drive away after striking a parked car with his Chevrolet Trailblazer, police said. Inside the Trailblazer, officers found the victims’ shoes, T-shirts and other belongings.

In addition to the two counts of aggravated robbery, Caruthers is also charged with leaving the scene of a property damage accident and driving without a license, police said. He is being held in lieu of $103,000 bond.

And some people wonder why this mall is dying.

As for this thug, someone find a tall tree and I'll find a good strong rope. NO, this is NOT racial. The color of his damn skin has nothing to do with it. I'm just sick and tired of these idiots doing what they do.

``He's 18 now. Playing tickle and kiss with the

Find his mother and put her in the same jail cell for raising such a wonderful, kind, contributing member to the human race. I would have said his father also but if he had a real father this never would have happened.....................

Maybe next time he'll point that gun at a LEO and get put down for good. We can only hope.

Just how many of these young creeps are on our streets? There seems to be an endless supply! No wonder so many people apply for gun carry permits. I'm amazed more of these guys/gals aren't getting shot.

Yet another tear drop gang tattoo next to the eye. These animals need to be shot on sight but since the law and political correctness won't allow it we'll have to hope for a drug overdose.

we have to change the sentencing guidelines then they won't be on the streets.

By: fishfry on 5/13/10 at 9:51

And just wait til all these blanket amnesty "illegal" gangs take over - tear drop gang will be the "good guys" - Those machete carrying types have NO mercy and DO NOT care! Sentencing guidelines will NEVER change because we have judges who DO NOT care about people only their next raise in salary!

By: Blanketnazi2 on 5/13/10 at 11:05

fishfry, judges don't determine sentencing guidelines - legislators do. but i agree that the gangs are not scared of police or prison.

Three strikes = death ...then they'll start caring.

Can you imagine the news headlines when one of these days something like this will occur where the victims have carry permits and BAM!
