Teens arrested in connection to robberies

The teens, a 16-year-old and 17-year-old, each armed with a handgun, terrified clerks Monday night during two separate robberies, police said in a release.

During interviews with South Precinct detectives, police say both admitted their involvement in the robberies of 21 Up Video at 2761 Murfreesboro Pike and Steak Plus Pizza at 469 Bell Road.

Police say the 17-year-old fired into the air during the Steak Plus Pizza robbery at 7:15 p.m. while the 16-year-old shot into the air during the 21 Up Video robbery at 11:30 p.m.

The teens are each charged in Juvenile Court with two counts of aggravated robbery. They are under investigation for other crimes in the south Nashville area, police said.
