Metro Police tell Channel 4 News two teenagers each face four felony charges for allegedly "tagging" homes, businesses and churches in Donelson with graffiti.

The spray-painted images were found on businesses near Donelson and Lebanon pikes.

Police don't believe the graffiti is gang related.

One of the two teens was found walking down a street early Friday morning with spray paint on his hands, police said. The empty cans were found in a trashcan near the vandalism.

Police estimated the cost to clean up at several thousand dollars.

Yes, felony. The last sentence states "...the cost to clean up at SEVERAL thousand dollars."

just because they write graffiti does not automatically mean they are in a gang. the several thousand dollars is needed to cover all the materials and labor required to clean up their graffiti. i agree they should be punished for it , but why felony?

Felony? maybe to drive home the point that this is vandalism and destruction of property, not "art" and not a harmless prank.
