An early morning call from a citizen led Franklin police to arrest three Nashville men on auto burglary charges.
The call from the resident, placed at about 3:30 a.m. Thursday, led Franklin police to a Moore’s Lane apartment complex after the citizen reported seeing three men checking door handles for unlocked cars in the parking lot. When officers stopped the suspects’ vehicle as it was leaving the area, they allegedly found evidence to arrest the three Nashville men.
Police charged 19-year-old Ronald McKinley, 25-year-old Donald Oliver and 22-year-old Lenard Chester with auto burglary for allegedly breaking into six different vehicles. Officers also charged Chester with simple possession and possession of drug paraphernalia.
As of mid-Thursday afternoon, all three remained in jail. Chester’s bond was set at $9,000, while McKinley and Oliver’s bond amounts were set at $5,000 each. All three men are due in court on Sept. 15.
